Brand film for Grand Pine Investment Limited, a Kowloon, Hong Kong-based independent advisory for international lives. Built on three pillars: complete independence from proprietary products, seamless cross-border coordination, and patient stewardship — delivered through a structured five-stage engagement. Delivered as an elegant, contemplative cinematic narrative for web and prospect outreach. Written, produced, directed, and edited by Chris.
The challenge
Grand Pine Investment Limited is the first non-Tokyo firm in the MANBOLD slate — a Kowloon, Hong Kong-based independent advisory serving internationally mobile clients whose lives span continents, currencies, and careers. The brief was to communicate the firm's specific value proposition — bringing structure to wealth that has grown in isolated pieces — while establishing the Hong Kong anchor as a positioning asset rather than a footnote.
Independent advice for international lives.
From the film
The film
We treated the film in muted corporate tones — charcoal slate, deep pine green, bronze — with gentle piano, ambient cello drone, and expansive orchestral strings for the Victoria Harbour aerial sequence. The visual language is elegant and contemplative: penthouse offices at twilight, floor-to-ceiling glass reflecting overlapping charts, sunlit boardrooms with cotton-paper portfolio layouts. The pace is unhurried — the film asks the viewer to slow down before it explains anything.
The audience
Grand Pine uses the film at the front of grandpinehk.com and in outreach to internationally mobile clients evaluating cross-border fiduciaries. The 2:20 runtime accommodates the film's contemplative arc — problem statement, geographic anchor, three pillars, five-stage engagement, generational close — without turning any beat into a bullet point.
